My name is Digna Gooiker, and I am a mother of two. I was born and raised in Amsterdam, where I also completed my medical training. After graduating in 2011, I worked as a resident physician in both Neurology and General Internal Medicine. I continue to apply the knowledge and skills I acquired during that time in my daily work as a general practitioner. Ultimately, I chose to specialize in General Practice. The profession of a GP is never dull: it involves personal contact with patients of all ages—from the very young to the elderly—and a dynamic mix of acute care and chronic disease management, addressing everything from minor ailments to serious conditions. I completed my specialist training in General Practice in 2016; after working for several years as a locum GP across various practices, I now work three days a week at Huisartspraktijk Vechtrijk. I believe it is essential that we, as GPs, remain easily accessible throughout the day to address any questions or concerns you may have. We strive to deliver high-quality care, placing great emphasis on continuity of care—specifically, ensuring that patients are seen by a familiar face whenever possible. Our location within the new Regional Medical Center allows us to provide comprehensive care close to home, all under one roof. I look forward to working together with you to find a solution to your health concerns.

My name is Rens Bexkens, and I am the father of a son and a daughter. I have a passion for football, and in my free time, you can find me running in the Flevopark in Amsterdam.

After completing my medical studies at the AMC, I crossed the Atlantic Ocean to conduct research into elbow injuries in young athletes. Upon returning to the Netherlands, I resumed clinical work involving direct patient contact. I thoroughly enjoyed working as a physician at Tergooi Hospital (Hilversum) in the Department of Orthopedics, and at MC Slotervaart (Amsterdam) within the medical specialties (Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Pulmonology). The experience gained during this time continues to prove invaluable in my daily practice as a general practitioner.

My name is Frederique Schuiringa. For the past two years, I have been a proud resident of the Weesper countryside. I studied medicine in Groningen. Afterward, I began working—with great enthusiasm—in Internal Medicine at the OLVG. I completed my General Practitioner training at the AMC and have been a GP since 2019.

I feel privileged to be able to practice this profession. Ensuring that you feel safe enough to share anything is a top priority for me. I enjoy establishing a personal—and certainly also pleasant—rapport with my patients, and I strive to stay well-informed about new medical developments. Ideally, I prefer to collaborate on a treatment plan that feels right not only for the doctor but, above all, for my patient.

As of September 1, 2025, I will be joining the team at Huisartsenpraktijk Vechtrijk, and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.

My name is Maartje van Vugt. Together with my husband and our four children, I live in beautiful Naarden.

I studied Medicine and completed my GP training at Utrecht University. In 2012, I finished my training and began working as a general practitioner at my trainer’s practice. After twelve enriching years, I was ready for a new challenge, which I found at Huisartsenpraktijk Vechtrijk.

To me, the practice of general medicine is the most rewarding profession there is. I consider it a privilege to guide patients of all ages and backgrounds, and to build lasting therapeutic relationships. The variety of complaints and situations makes every day unique.

I hope that my patients feel at ease with me. I strive to be approachable and accessible, to apply current medical insights, and to develop a suitable treatment plan together with the patient.

In my free time, I thoroughly enjoy family life. Sports play an important role in our family. Additionally, I enjoy playing the piano, and I recently started a photography course.

My name is Youri Poelemeijer, and I live in Weesp with my wife and son.
As a native of Amsterdam, I graduated as a physician from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2015. Subsequently, I worked for several years in the Department of Surgery and obtained my PhD on the quality of bariatric surgery. After obtaining my PhD, I began my training as a general practitioner in the Groningen region, completing the program in 2023.
Outside of work, I enjoy road cycling and spending time on the water. Fortunately, Weesp lends itself well to both hobbies.
Since October 2023, I have been working at the Vechtrijk General Practice, at both the Weesp and
Nigtevecht locations.
Within the practice, my areas of interest lie in minor surgical procedures, sports medicine, and the care of morbid obesity.
I hope to see you at one of these locations.

My name is Els van der Veen. Samen met mijn gezin woon ik in Hilversum.

In 2021, I completed my GP training in The Hague. Prior to this training, I worked as a physician in the Emergency Department and the Department of Internal Medicine.
Over the past few years, I have worked as a locum GP at various locations in the region, including at this practice.

I am very much looking forward to starting here now as a permanent GP, effective February 2026, at the Weesp and Nigtevecht locations.

I enjoy the profession of general practice every day; we see people of all ages—from young to old—and often build a long-term therapeutic relationship. I believe it is important that we, as general practitioners, are easily approachable. For big and small problems. I would be happy to work with you to find a solution to your health concern.

My name is Zoelfija, and I live in Zeewolde.
I completed my training as a medical assistant in 2019.
After a thorough and selective search, I eventually joined Huisartsenpraktijk Vechtrijk, where I have now been working as a medical assistant for three years.
I really enjoy the great variety that working in a general practice offers; no two patients or phone calls are ever the same.
Together with the team, we are constantly thinking about how we can improve the care we provide to our patient population.

My name is Suhaila.
I was born in Amsterdam and have been living in Almere for five years. My hobbies are drawing, gaming, and reading books.

In 2023, I completed my training as a medical assistant.
As of May 1, 2024, I have been working as part of the team at Huisartsenpraktijk Vechtrijk.

I derive great pleasure from the diversity that a general practice offers, and I enjoy helping patients.

My name is Sanja. I live in Diemen and am the mother of a daughter. Since March, I have been working at Vechtrijk as a medical assistant in training.

I look forward to guiding patients and providing quality care.
Outside of work, I alternate between yoga and strength training.

My name is Rommie, mother of a son and a daughter, and grandmother of four beautiful granddaughters.

I live in the beautiful village of Nigtevecht with my husband.

In 1998, I started working as a medical assistant at the GP practice in Nigtevecht, where I still work with great pleasure today, together with my colleague Emmie.

As of July 1st, the practice in Nigtevecht will be taken over by Practice Vechtrijk, due to the retirement of the general practitioners in Nigtevecht.

My hobbies are skiing, horseback riding, hiking, and cycling; and in fine weather, you can find me out on the water.

Providing the right care and ensuring patient satisfaction are central to me, as is a pleasant working atmosphere.

I am pleased that the patients in Nigtevecht do not have to miss the familiar face behind the counter, and that she can continue to help and support where necessary—as well as the patients in Weesp and the surrounding area.

My name is Emmie. I am married, live in Weesp, am the mother of two daughters, and the super proud grandmother of three grandsons.

I completed my training at the MBO-AG in Utrecht, and in 1984, I received my diplomas as both a medical assistant and a pharmacy assistant. For the first few years, I worked in general practices that also operated an in-house pharmacy—specifically in Groenekan and Muiden—after which I made the move to Apotheek Ballintijn in Weesp, where I worked for over ten years. In 1999, the Nigtevecht General Practice opened its own pharmacy, allowing me to fulfill both roles simultaneously. I have now been working there for 24 years—with immense pleasure—alongside my colleague, Rommie.

In addition, I was an active Red Cross volunteer for many years, and for over 15 years, I taught youth first aid classes to children in Group 8 in Weesp and Driemond.

Together with this great new team, I too strive to provide excellent care for our patients.

My name is Marlies Nagel. I have lived in Weesp my entire life. After completing my studies in Cultural Anthropology at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, I pursued a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. It was there that I gained the knowledge to help others in their quest for a healthy, varied, and delicious diet.

I have now been working as a dietitian for over five years—including at my own practice, FoodWise Diëtisten Weesp. Through my work, I discovered that collaboration among healthcare providers is of great importance in providing clients with the best possible care.

The training program to become a Somatic Practice Support Assistant at Vechtrijk represents a wonderful step toward realizing this goal. I look forward to the opportunity to work alongside a close-knit team and to ensure open lines of communication between myself, the general practitioners, patients, and other involved healthcare providers.

My name is Sabine, and I was born and raised in Almere. I am the mother of two wonderful teenagers.
I have been working in Weesp for quite some time now. I started out as a doctor’s assistant and have since continued to develop my skills within the practice; I now run my own consultation sessions. During these sessions, I see patients for their annual cardiovascular check-ups and provide guidance to those who wish to quit smoking.

Interacting with patients is something I truly enjoy. Following several practice takeovers within Weesp, I have grown deeply attached to the patients I have known for so long, and my heart remains open to getting to know new people. What I value most is being able to go that “extra mile” to provide care that is not only appropriate but—above all—warm and compassionate. For this reason, I have decided to focus my efforts specifically on elderly care within Weesp and Nigtevecht.

My name is Marike van Hoeke.
I live in Hilversum with my husband, three children, dog, and cat. In my free time, you can find me out in nature or in the kitchen. I love walking on the heath with my dog ​​or spending time cooking elaborate meals for friends.
I began my career in healthcare in 1992 by training as a nurse. After working for several years as an oncology nurse at the AVL and subsequently as a district nurse, I made the transition to mental healthcare (GGZ).
This proved to be the right choice for me, as the opportunity to connect with the person behind the illness brings me great satisfaction and joy! Drawing on 15 years of practical experience and specialized training within the mental healthcare sector, I have built a solid foundation for my work as a Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner (POH-GGZ). I am able to offer you various elements drawn from established mental healthcare treatment approaches.
You could certainly call me a fan of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness (including self-compassion). I enjoy working with guided self-help methods, enabling you to continue working on your progress even outside the consulting room. Naturally, I will also assist you in identifying an appropriate referral should the solution to your specific needs lie within more intensive or alternative forms of care.

What characterizes my approach? I am empathetic and pragmatic.
You will not receive a one-size-fits-all solution to your problem from me; rather, I place my perspective alongside yours. I believe more in the power of acceptance than in the malleability of the human condition. I view truly listening as my most important tool. Through the questions and guidance that emerge from this, I support your self-reflection and resilience.

My name is Joost Clemens, father of three children, two of whom are now studying. In my free time, I enjoy running, gliding, and occasionally attending a classical concert. I trained as a GP in Northern England (Newcastle upon Tyne) approximately 25 years ago. I still enjoy my work very much and continue to hold office hours in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. I derive great pleasure from interacting with people, and that is the foundation of my enjoyment of my work.

In addition, I enjoy focusing on the organizational side of a GP practice: service provision, accessibility, premises, style, new developments, and so on. That has become a kind of side job for me, which enhances the enjoyment of my work even further. In Weesp, I started the general practice Huisartsenpraktijk Vechtrijk with my colleague Digna Gooiker in March 2019. Now that the practice has grown significantly over the past few years, I hold consultations in Weesp only in exceptional cases, and I focus primarily on the organization of the practice, together with Digna Gooiker and practice manager Anouk Gnade.

My name is Anouk. I was born and raised in Zaandam.

After completing my training as a Medical Assistant at the ROC Horizon College in Purmerend, I worked at various general practices. I also worked as a Triage Nurse at the Zaanstreek/Waterland General Practice Out-of-Hours Service, where I was able to further develop my knowledge and skills.

Since May 1, 2020, I have been a member of the team at Huisartsenpraktijk Vechtrijk. On July 2, 2020, I received my diploma for the Practice Management in Primary and Integrated Care program at the InHolland Academy Amsterdam.

Together with the general practitioners, I too strive for high-quality care.
