Personal Health Environment (PHE)

There are several types of PHRs. In every PHR, you can collect data about your own health.

In addition to our MGn Patient Portal, you can now also use a Personal Health Environment (PHE), but what exactly is this?

What is the difference between a PHE and a Patient Portal?

  • You choose which PHE you use. In a PHE, you collect information about your health in one place. This includes data you measure yourself and medical records from various healthcare providers, such as your GP or hospital.
  • A Patient Portal is an app or website provided by a healthcare institution. This institution, for example the hospital, chooses the portal. In a portal, you can view the medical data that this specific institution has on file for you. If you visit multiple healthcare institutions, you will have to deal with multiple portals.

Choose a PHR that suits you

There are several types of PHEs. In every PHE, you can collect data about your own health. For example, data you measure yourself, such as blood pressure readings, what you eat, or how much you exercise.

What is unique about a PHE is that you can connect with different healthcare providers, such as your GP, hospital, or therapist. They have medical records about you in their systems.

In a PHE, you can collect a copy of these records yourself, such as your GP’s advice, hospital results, or a letter from your therapist.
